Der Österreichische Tierschutzverein ist Pionier und Wegbereiter im Rahmen des österreichischen Tierschutzes. 1899 als „Österreichischer Tierschutz- und Tierasyl-Verein“ gegründet, setzte sich eine Gruppe von mutigen Tierfreund*innen für das Wohl der Tiere ein und machte so den Tierschutz in Österreich auf breiterer Basis erstmalig möglich. Bis heute setzen wir uns vor Ort in Österreich, gemeinsam mit Menschen, denen Tiere wichtig und wertvoll sind, dafür ein, dass sie ein artgerechtes und würdevolles Leben führen können. Bis heute finanzieren wir uns ausschließlich aus den privaten Zuwendungen von unseren Tierfreund*innen.
